Our expertise in vegetation maintenance has been gained during our last 30+ years of service. A description of some of our recent works are provided below:

 Ergon Energy QLD
Chemical treatment of regrowth on transmission line easements.
Tully to Tully Gorge and Tully to Ingham.
Full cut and chemical treatment to the whole of the line. This will give a two year service to the line in a very wet and high growth area. This gives vehicle access to all structures and line of sight for ground inspections and in addition keeping the vegetation out of the clearance area of the line.

TransGrid NSW
Four separate contracts in total: Yass, Wagga Wagga, Newcastle and Coffs / Tamworth. Controlling the regrowth of vegetation on the transmission lines managed by TransGrid in NSW. The jobs involved the entire scope of our vegetation services as well as truck and chipper work, EWP, tree climbing, stem injection, foliar spraying and the use of cross section of mulching machines.

The major benefit for TransGrid is that they liaise with Savco as a one-stop-shop for all of their vegetation maintenance requirements. In addition to the contract scope of works, we have diversified to deliver fencing services, road maintenance and the supply of materials (such as fencing consumables and herbicides). We currently have 65 employees working on these contracts which are due for completion 30 June 2012.

Hancock Victorian Plantations
Inter-row mulching of Pine Plantations in New South Wales and Victoria.
Providing a service that is traditionally carried out by manual labour, removing Rouge Pine, Eucalypt, Blackberry and Wattle Species. This was performed at a greater cost benefit for the customer per hectare than manual labour.

Willmott Forests Pine Plantation
Mulching of Fire Breaks around the Pine Plantations in New South Wales and Victoria.
Providing a break for fires that threatened the plantation in late 2008. This was fast and effective and much quicker than using traditional slashers and manual labour.

Country Energy NSW
Clearing 10km of new line north of Grafton.
This was a combination of EWP, truck and chipper and mulching work using our Rayco T275 machine. This job was initially interrupted due to regional flooding early in 2009. Despite this delay the job was still completed on time and within budget due to the type of machine we had on site.

Powerlink Queensland
Providing inspection and removal of unwanted trees on transmission lines in South East Queensland.
We delivered a service to negotiate with property owners to take out trees that are unwanted by Powerlink; this reduced the workload for Powerlink inspectors.

SEQ Water
Tree lopping, truck and chipper works, ASV Posi Track work and foliar spray works.
Savco provided assessment of dangerous trees and weeds that needed removing at some of SEQ Water’s key assets; Wivenhoe Dam, Atkinson Dam, Somerset Dam and in the Kirklee area. We were then engaged to deliver the works.
